We love our Handyman Projects!

This is one of those projects where you remember how grateful you are to preform the work you do best. This project was once a vision created by Nicole and her son Miles. Miles is a young, talented musician and was wanting to free up his desk top to create more space. He came up with the idea of creating a sliding table top beneath his existing table, with a couple support legs for the 45 pound keyboard. I was able to see his vision, and if you can see it, you can build it! The end product was extremely rewarding, and Miles and Nicole were very happy with how it turned out!

Quick TLC on a Storage Shed in Holmen: A Fresh Look in Just One Day! At The Community Handyman , we love helping our clients breathe new life into their spaces, and this week was no exception. Our latest project took us to Holmen, where our long-time client Pam wanted to refresh her storage shed. With a new paint coating and updated soffit and fascia, we knew we could transform her shed in no time. A Fresh Coat of Paint The first step in our shed makeover was a new paint coating. Over time, the elements can take a toll on outdoor structures, leaving them looking tired and worn. Pam’s shed was no different. We started by prepping the surface, ensuring it was clean and smooth, ready to receive a vibrant new color. The transformation was instant, with the fresh paint giving the shed a bright, clean, and revitalized appearance. Updating Soffit and Fascia Next, we turned our attention to the soffit and fascia. These components are often overlooked, but they play a crucial role in protecting the shed and maintaining its overall appearance. The old soffit and fascia were showing signs of wear, so we replaced them with new, high-quality materials. This not only enhanced the shed’s look but also provided better protection against the elements, ensuring Pam’s shed will stay in great shape for years to come. Efficient and Effective One of the best parts of this project was how quickly it came together. In just one day, we were able to complete all the work, leaving Pam with a shed that looked brand new. Our team worked efficiently, ensuring high-quality results without disrupting Pam’s schedule. This deck was done for our amazing client Pam, up in Holmen, WI. We had Mikoda from Driftless Softwash come out and pressure wash the deck to prepare it for the stain, and the finished product of the deck couldn’t have turned out any better!

Storm doors are in session right now!  Client in La Crosse was in need of a new storm door as her old one was having issues with the handle and some other issues regarding the operation of the door. Decided the best option was to install a new Anderson series forest green storm door provided by The Home Depot in Onalaska, WI. Installation went perfect giving us what we have now in the photo!

The chosen backsplash was DALTILE restore Ivory 10”x12” glazed ceramic mosaic tile, with a bright white grout, purchased from the Onalaska Home Depot.  We also changed out all the outlets and switches and switched them to a bright white color to help give the backsplash a fresh new look. One thing I would like to point out, and maybe it will be worth making a video for later, is using a proper tile cutting saw makes this job so much easier! I bought a 8” rigid tile wet saw with a stand for around $600 bucks, I can’t express how happy I was knowing my cuts weren’t running the risk of chipping every time, and being right on the money for each cut as well. Once again, thanks to Nina and Rick for allowing me to lend a hand in their home improvement endeavors, and I look forward to next client’s projects!

New glass shower door for Dawn and Glenn in Caledonia! The door chosen was a Foremost brand shower door from the Home Depot in Onalaska, WI. This is definitely one of the more simpler doors to install, with simple directions to follow and not too many parts to install. Thanks again Glenn and Dawn for choosing to work with The Community Handyman ! I look forward to the future projects!

Thank you to Sue and Dean in Mabel for allowing The Community Handyman to help with their cabinet project! I will say they should have plenty of room for storage with the cabinet depth being 32 inches! Another thank you to the Burkholder crew outside of Granger for the beautiful cabinets! (They are Amish so they won’t see this, but I had to shout out their work!) The cabinets are made out of a Cherry wood and are stained with a coffee stain color.
